Dear colleagues,

It is with great pleasure and anticipation that I invite you to participate in the 16th Congress of the Croatian Pediatric Society, which will be held from October 9 to 12, 2025 at the Amadria Park Convention Center in the jewel of our coast, Šibenik. This congress represents an opportunity for professional discussion, exchange of experiences and further improvement of pediatric practice in Croatia. As the President of the Society, I would like to emphasize the significance of this largest national pediatric gathering in the context of our common goal – providing the best possible health care to our children and young people.

World pediatric standards, innovations in disease treatment and prevention, and health promotion will be at the center of our discussions. With numerous lecturers from the country and our guests from abroad, we believe that the congress will be an opportunity to strengthen cooperation among experts, create new partnerships and improve the quality of healthcare for our children.

I invite you to be part of this important gathering. Present your work, participate in plenary lectures, presentations by individual specialist societies, sections and allied professions, workshops “Ask an experienced pediatrician” and all other events at the congress, including a rich social life. Contribute to the further development of the pediatric profession in Croatia. We celebrate our profession, our work and the privilege of participating in the most direct way in the growth and development of an individual child and the population of children as a whole.

Children who are our future. I am sure that each of you, as in previous congresses, will enrich our congress with your personality, knowledge, skills and experience, and together we will once again confirm the strength of unity in pediatric medicine.

I look forward to your arrival at the 16th Congress of the Croatian Pediatric Society.

Warmly,

Aida Mujkic

President of the Croatian Pediatric Society

Dear colleagues, dear nurses,

On behalf of the Split Branch of the HPD, which encompasses three Dalmatian counties, I would like to express my great pleasure in being your hosts again, once again in beautiful Šibenik.

Šibenik is known for its rich history, beautiful architecture and charming streets. This city, with UNESCO monuments such as the Cathedral of St. James, offers an inspiring environment that will enrich our meeting and be an incentive to improve our knowledge and skills.

In our work so far, our Branch has focused its activities in three directions. We have strongly advocated for improving the availability of primary pediatric care, and in recent years we have seen improvements in this area. There are still many challenges ahead of us in primary pediatrics, which we will address together, because only then will results be achieved. We have encouraged the development of our members by organizing professional meetings, and we will continue to do so in the future, because only through continuous education and constant communication can we enable the advancement of the profession and the conditions in which we work. We are particularly proud that we financed the active participation of young fellow residents at the last Congress with our own funds, and as a Branch we will continue to invest primarily in young people, and through them in our future.

The expertise and dedication of us pediatricians play a key role in society. Through prevention, diagnosis and treatment, we contribute to creating the foundation for a healthy, quality and safe upbringing. Pediatric nurses are an indispensable part of our team, and their expertise and empathy help improve treatment outcomes, which contributes to building trust between patients and the healthcare system, which we all strive for.

We believe that the discussions, lectures and workshops will further enrich your knowledge and encourage you to take new steps in your work. Thank you for being a part of our Congress.

Welcome!

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Joško Markić, MD, PhD.

President of the Organizing Committee

Dear nurses and technicians,

It is my special honor and great pleasure to invite you to the 15th Congress of the Pediatric Society of HUMS, which will be held on October 9-12, 2025 at the Convention Center, Amadia Park Šibenik. Known for its long tradition, the Congress is jointly organized by the Pediatric Society of the Croatian Medical University of Zagreb (HUMS) and the Croatian Pediatric Society (HLZ).

We face challenging times marked by climate change, armed conflicts around the world, and poor lifestyles that result in obesity, addiction, and impaired mental health in children and adolescents. Based on the above, pediatric nurses and technicians need to acquire a great deal of knowledge, experience, and empathy in order to provide superior nursing care for children and adolescents.

This is an opportunity to raise awareness of how pediatric healthcare is child-friendly, meaning that children and parents participate as active partners in a healthcare team that respects a code of ethics and professional conduct.

Members of the HUMS Pediatric Society actively participate in creating health care for children and adolescents and the best standards in pediatric nursing practice. The promotion of health and well-being, the prevention of accidents and illnesses, the safety of children in the hospital, in the family, and in the wider community are the main determinants of our work.

By establishing professional cooperation with domestic and foreign professional associations, by encouraging research in all areas of child health, we actively influence the adoption of legal regulations that regulate the preservation and improvement of the health and rights of children and adolescents, and at the same time we create high-quality, expert and, above all, professional teams of pediatric nurses and technicians.
